I did a new install on the new rig and now i can not get the port open for utorrent i know it is open in the router my old comp has no problem . I have turned windows firewall off and tried it with it on and open the ports in the windows firewall but utorrent still show it not open [Frown] It is bad not to seed

Sorry, I didn't have any trouble getting uTorrent to work with Vista at all. Not sure what to suggest short of contacting the uTorrent authors.

It is not so much as utorrent . I went to www.grc.com/ and used there shields up to probe the port and it shows it blocked on the new computer , i can plug my old computer in to the dsl modem with firewall and it shows that port open [headbang]

In the control panel in classic view there are two places to turn off the firewall. One is the Windows Firewall icon and the other is the Security Center. I have seen them work independently of each other so both have to be disabled.
