Remote Desktop if you want the connection encrypted.
VNC (UltraVNC) if you don't care about it being encrypted.
Usually if your process is 1) have them run the server 2) you remote in 3) click the fix me stuff 4) then shut the server off yourself; all you need is a VNC connection. Not recommended if you are typing passwords and such in over the remote link...
If your sister is running XP home you will not be able to RDP into her machine and will need to use an alternate method. However if she is running XP Pro RDP is your best bet. If she is behind a firewall or router of some sort setup at NAT/PAT rule from her public IP to her internal IP over port 3389.
