It's time to see what kind of user base there is out there. I'm reluctant to push this thing further if there is little demand (which appears to be the case). I'm proud of 5.3.2 and even if the project does stop (publically) at that revision, it's a really solid and powerful note to end on.
Privately, I'll just develop LDE further in the way I want to - I'm no longer constrained by support worries or compatibility needs, which in itself makes quite a pleasant change.
Well, it's hard to guage how many people are using it by activity at your boards obviously. I think it's a grea product and I'm sure there are a lot of other people that feel the same way.

Very. I've been testing virtually every build. There are minor issues with third party modules and one or two bugs, but beta 2 should be out by the weekend to address the more important issues.
0.24.7 is looking great and works almost perfectly as a drop-in replacement for the earlier 0.24.6 LS builds. Backing up a working 0.24.6 is generally a good idea though - it's still beta
An update to 0.24.7 shouldn't be too much longer now. There are only one or two third party modules suffering issues that should be addressed within beta 2. Beta 1 shows remarkable performance and stability improvments.

Well beta 1 is approaching rapidly on the heels of alpha 4 - mainly bug fixes and a few updated plugins. From beta 1 onwards, release frequency will come down to the level of interest I can see. LDE still gets updates every few days (although mainly minor tweaks these days) and the new structure is remarkably impressive.
I've still to get a single crash from LiteStep 0.24.7 - it's stunningly stable and very quick The dev team have really impressed me.
Phil, you're not going to believe this. I installed the beta 6 code and ran it once and now my computer won't shut down properly. This is a different machine than the one I had this problem with before. I just don't understand what the hell could be causing this. It works fine otherwise, very nice shell.

Hmm. I'm still unsure as to what is wrong. In any case, there is a hotfix build up to solve problems with two plugins. I doubt that will help, but you should grab the update ASAP.
For some reason, Release 6 has solved the problem for one user on the support boards over at charliehamster.co.uk. I'd rule out plugins simply because the default configuration is to have them all turned off - if you have any of the plugins enabled, please let me know. So much has been moved to plugins that I am only left with a few potentially awkward permanent modules to investigate. The trick is that I cannot pin this down. I vaguely remember seeing the issue once on my old desktop machine at leaf, but it went away after a reboot and I never saw it again *shrug*
I'm keen to fix this so try disabling some of the modules from the left click menu and disabling any of the plugins you might be using. I wish I could reproduce the problem here.
Any information you have to help me with this, please let me know. If you have altered the configuration, can you send me the entire contents of %userprofile%\LDEData\X6 all zipped up? I'd like to be able to try and reproduce this to get a fix in beta 2.
I'm looking for translators to allow me to setup multiple language support within LDE(X) in the near future. A third party is working with LDE(X)5.3.2 to provide a German translation; I'm hoping to be able to import the results of this into LDE(X), but would like to find people to handle other languages basing their work on either LDE(X)5.3.2 or LDE(X)6. Long term interest would be helpful to allow the multiple language to remain current with future revisions, but we'll see.
