Los Angeles (E! Online) - Girl power, by the looks of it, is a finite thing.
Geri Halliwell has crushed the hopes of tween girls worldwide, putting the kibosh on any future plans for a Spice Girls reunion redo.
"It probably won't happen ever again," the artist otherwise known as Ginger Spice told Billboard. "I'm still absolutely blown away that we did more than one show. So, right now I'm thinking this is it. This is the last time you will ever get to see this girl power, the five Spices onstage as one."
Considering the mass hysteria generated by the current—and soon to conclude—Return of the Spice Girls World Tour, Halliwell did hint that, should public outcry ever again reach such a fever pitch for Posh, Scary, Baby, Sporty and, of course, Ginger, she would not be entirely loath to hit the road once again.
"What this reunion taught me is you can never say never," she said. "If you had asked me 10 years ago whether there'd ever be a Spice Girls reunion concert, I'd have gone, 'No f--king way!' "
Not least because 10 years ago, Halliwell was persona non grata in Spice World. She signaled the beginning of the end for the group's first go-round, unceremoniously turning the quintet into a quartet back in 1998. She was, however, one of the principal ralliers behind the current reunion.
Despite her apparent aversion to regrouping onstage with Victoria Beckham, Melanie Brown, Emma Bunton and Melanie Chisholm, Halliwell called the tour "amazing...an experience of a lifetime. I couldn't have asked for it to be better, actually."
She also refuted the new wave of reports alluding to debilitating infighting between the women. The group's recent announcement that they would be cutting short their world tour by four dates set tongues wagging that distemper within the group was to blame.
"Actually, it's gone on longer than we planned because we thought we were only going to go to the end of January. After February, everybody had commitments—kids had to go back to school and that. So, we had to leave places out that we would have loved to have gone to."
The Spices close shop on the reunion Feb. 26 in Toronto.
After that, Halliwell, at least, is flexing her creative muscle in a different capacity. This May, she'll follow in the illustrious footsteps of Madonna and publish the first in a series of children's books, featuring a character named Ugenia Lavender.
While plot details or a title have yet to be revealed, unsurprisingly, Halliwell describes the tome as "a rebirth of girl power."
"I love writing. It's my passion. It's something I feel was very complementary to my life as a mother, to become a writer."
